Gram’s Red Wine Vinaigrette
This salad dressing is so addictive. I am not sure if my grandma made this up, or where it came from, but it is MY FAVORITE salad dressing recipe. I’m very saucy – you might even say I’m a sauce snob. So for this to be at the top of my list, it’s a big deal.
My Gram (grandma) has dementia, and we made this recipe together last week. When we were done, she asked me where I got the recipe. She said she had to have it because it was the best dressing she had ever had. When I told her that it was her recipe, she was surprised and overjoyed that I remembered everything. Well, thank you Gram, but I do not remember everything. I write everything down, and I’m so glad I do! :)
After having that encounter, it inspired me to share her delicious vinaigrette recipe. It’s very simple, and good with everything. I haven’t had a salad mixture I haven’t enjoyed it with. If you’d like to really level up your salad game, grab some Wisps. LOL. If you know, you know, and now you know. You’re welcome.
Okay, okay, HERE ya go!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup canola or olive oil (my Gram hates olive oil so we always use canola)
2 minced garlic cloves
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
Put everything in a large mason jar and shake.
This vinaigrette is great on salad, baked potatoes, chicken, and veggies. LMAO. I really love it. I hope you aren’t taking shots of dressing right now, but I won’t judge you if you are. ;)
Have the best day and salad ever!
Always and Whatever
