Teriyaki Noodles
We love noodles in this house. All types. Never met a noodle we didn’t like. This is a great side dish but also makes a fab main dish if you throw in some protein.
Ingredients
1 box of spaghetti noodles
1/2 head of cabbage, shredded
2 large carrots, shredded
1 teaspoon olive oil
2/3 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3 1/2 cups water
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Sliced green onions, for garnish
Step 1.
Heat large pot over medium-high heat. Once hot, add oil, shredded cabbage and carrots. Sauté about 5 minutes or until tender.
Step 2.
Add soy sauce, brown sugar, mustard, ginger, and garlic. Mix well.
Step 3.
Add 3 1/2 cups water and spaghetti noodles.
Step 4.
Cook uncovered about 15 minutes. Once the spaghetti noodles soften, make sure to stir occasionally (more often toward the end) so the noodles don’t stick.
Step 5.
Once the noodles are cooked through, remove from heat and toss in sesame seeds. Garnish with green onions!
If you need to omit the cabbage and carrots for kids, I GET IT. My kids are in a picky stage of life, and it drives me insane. But I choose my battles wisely.
Hope you enjoy, and as always, thanks for being here!!
Always and Whatever
