Always and Whatever Holiday Round-Up
This holiday season has been so busy for our family! Now that nap time doesn’t exist in our home, it’s been hard for me to find time to document our holiday crafts and recipes, so I thought I’d share some of my favorites from years’ past. These are the timeless holiday recipes and DIYs I find myself coming back to year after year.
I hope this inspires you to make something today. Holiday crafting is my favorite tradition, and I always try to make it simple! My life motto is, “Craft now, Cry later.”
Christmas Morning Casserole
This recipe will help make your Christmas morning breakfast easy, so you can spend more time doing the things you really want to do. Prep everything the night before and pop the premade casserole into the oven in the morning. This is a no-brainer for a hectic Christmas morning.
Mocktails are my favorite! I want to have a drink in my hand at all hours of the day, especially when I’m powering through Christmas baking or gift wrapping. I’m a bad water drinker, so this is how I stay hydrated. These mocktails are COZY AF.
Christmas Tree Cheesy Bread Appetizer
Everyone needs a Christmas tree cheesy bread on their holiday table. This appetizer is a super easy and tasty crowd pleaser! Who doesn’t love cheese bread?
Nothing sets the mood like a holiday simmer pot, also known as stovetop potpourri. Throw everything in and sit back while your simmer pot fills your home with cozy Christmas cheer! Grab the cloves and get creative with the orange slices. This also makes a great gift-in-a-jar.
Grandma’s pistachio salad recipe is a nostalgic tradition, and it’s truly the only time lime green and red look cute together. Unfortunately, my daughter has a severe pistachio allergy, so I can’t make this anymore. Sad face for sure. Please enjoy a double serving for me!
This holiday hard candy recipe has been a tradition in my family forever. My mom, sister and I take over the kitchen to make huge batches and then share it with our community.
Salt dough ornaments are a must, and something you will cherish year after year. I add white paint to brighten them up so they stand out on my tree. If you’ve never made them before, make this the year.
These no-sew Santa gnomes are adorable strung on a garland or as individual ornaments and decor. As a matter of fact, revisiting this post inspired me to make one today!
Holiday Chex mix is great for making in large batches and sharing with friends, teachers, neighbors, etc. Or keep it all to yourself! Either way, this is the perfect festive snack to have on hand during this time of year.
These sweet tassel angels never fail to make me smile. I like to hang them separately in random places all over the house. They would also make a cute addition to your garland collection or as ornaments on your tree.
Dry your own citrus to make the cutest garlands, gifts tags and ornaments. I recently upgraded to a dehydrator but still do a batch in the oven as well. This is one of those crafts that looks impressive but is an easy DIY.
After Christmas has come and gone, use your tree and wreath trimmings to make these DIY fire starters. As a bonus, they make the house smell COZY as hell. Bundle these with your simmer pot gift jars, and the recipient will thank you later.
Hope you are enjoying time with the fam!
