Gram’s Famous Chicken Dip
Iva is my gram (grandma). She’s the most perfect, and I get a lot of my creativity from her. She’s a true inspiration to me, and makes the best southern food ever.
I remember the first day I had chicken dip. It was at my grandparents mountain house, not cabin. Normal people would call it that. I was very young and picky. It is by FAR the MOST unattractive dish you can serve to anyone, no matter how you present it. Sometimes it hard to get people to try it and then once they do, they are hooked. Its a great conversation starter also, because everyone wants to know what the heck is in it!
Ingredients:
Pimento Cheese Spread 20 oz
Sour cream 16 oz
Hidden Valley Dry Ranch packet
1 can of Canned chicken
Fritos
Sounds so good right. LOL This might be the worst recipe to blog, but if you make this, I am sure you will tell me because it will be the new favorite snack in the house. My mom had it stocked in our fridge growing up and I do the same now. Q loves it. I go to my friends houses and they serve it. It’s a hit everywhere you go! I’ve never met a person that didn’t love this. Except 1. MY HUSBAND. He will eat it but wouldn’t choose to eat it. BIG EYE ROLL while laughing.
Step 1. Open and drain the chicken. put in bowl and use a fork to shred it. Why does canned chicken smell the way it does. Why is canned chicken so gross but so good. I don’t have these answers I just have these questions.
Step 2. Add pimento cheese spread, dry ranch packet and sour cream. Now, stir till everything is mixed together!
Serve cold with Fritos. Fritos matter.
THATS ALL. Be ready to have the most talked about dish, for the looks and taste.
My bestie adds garlic powder for a savory taste!
Enjoy!
